300 gloves for the winter

This 300 Gloves Project was a special one. When we give out gloves, we do this through relationships in that we give gloves out one by one after having conversations with precious individuals. Often something like gloves means so much to those in need. It is not only about the gloves, but it is also about sharing that they matter, that they are precious, and that they are seen.

For example, Jo was one of the men we gave gloves to. After talking to him for a while, we gave him a pair, and he was so surprised and thankful for the gloves. He put them on his hands right away, and he said I really like them, thank you. He then also shared how nice it is to have some people to talk with as it gets very lonely out here on the streets. From there, we were able to encourage him on his journey and connect him to resources to get on a housing list that he didn’t know about.
