Planted in a Church After the Gospel Campaign
FROM BEING LOST AND BOUND BY ALCOHOL, TO BEING SAVED AND SET FREE BY JESUS
Chama lived bound by alcohol and lost in the patterns of the world. Day after day, his life followed the same cycle, with no freedom and no lasting hope. But everything began to change the night he heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. As the preaching began, Chama felt something personal stirring within him. In that moment, he knew that Jesus Himself was calling him. He felt that Jesus was there to save him, to rescue him from sin, and to give him new life. That night, Chama surrendered his life to Christ for the first time.
3.5 months after the Gospel Campaign, Chama shares:
“My name is Chama, I live in the village. I heard about the gospel campaign through an announcement. During the gospel campaign when the preaching was done, I felt like Jesus Christ was there to save me from sin and give me life. And I decided to give my life to Jesus Christ and also start going to church. I started going to church, and I was well received so I go there every Sunday. I do receive teachings from the church and they encourage me spiritually.” Through the Embrace follow-up and discipleship system, Chama was connected to one of the local churches that have attended the embrace trainings. He began attending faithfully the Sunday services and the weekly Bible studies, growing in his new life with Christ. What Jesus began that night did not fade, it continued to transform him. He continued to share: “From the time I received Jesus Christ my life has changed, I used to drink beer, but now I no longer drink alcohol. What I can say is to thank God for changing me from the time I started going to church until reaching today. There are things which have changed in my life so I thank God for what He has done. I will never stop working for Him until the time He will end my life.”
The same man who was once bound by alcohol is now free. The same man who once lived without direction is now firmly planted in the house of God. Jesus transformed Chama’s life. Today, Chama stands as living proof that the gospel is the power of God to save, deliver, and make all things new.
