Showing worth and respect

Haircuts

Through the Haircuts Project, we wanted to create an opportunity for people to feel loved and valued through a hands-on service. We asked a licensed hairdresser to come out on the street with us and give homeless people a clean and beautiful haircut. He gladly and wonderfully did so!

The response was very touching and we were able to witness how the "haircuts" was a beautiful way to show "love in action". We are so grateful for all the great conversations and feedback we received. This afternoon our theme was that what people see from the outside and how people judge you is not of the utmost importance. It is much more important to know that you are valuable no matter what situation you are in. We shared that if you see yourself as valuable, you will find more strength to fight for the future knowing that you are worth it.
