"My life has changed"

Each week, Richard joins over 50 other children as they gather for a warm meal, discipleship, worship, prayer, and play. In the midst of life’s difficulties, he is encountering a Heavenly Father who loves him and a place where he is seen and welcomed. Over time, real change has begun to take place in his life. He shares:
 

“When I started coming to ‘A Seat at The Table,’ I used to be a naughty and playful kid… I tried to change myself but I found myself going back to the same behaviours. But listening and being taught the Word has greatly helped me to become good and obedient. Even at school, the teachers are seeing the change and improvement that I and my friends are making. I am so grateful for the love and support that the teachers here give us.” - Richard

IMPACTING CHILDREN LIKE 8 YEAR OLD TASILA

One precious girl who attends the program has faced painful things. Instead of believing the world telling her who she is, she is choosing to believe the truth of God that she hears at “A Seat at the Table.” She opens up to the team where she is received with love, acceptance and prayer.

She shared with us: ”I was often bullied and couldn’t stand up for myself. I always felt sad and unloved by the people around me. But coming here has really changed all of that. I feel safe and welcome at “A Seat at the Table.” We are told God loves us; we must forget about anything that makes us worry because He will take care of us. The Scriptures shared with us assure us that God is with us. It doesn’t matter how bad things look or what people say about us, we are in God’s care and that is what is important. I always find myself looking forward to coming and being with my friends here. Thank you so much for all the blessings.” - Tasila

Stories like Tasila's show how God is at work in the hearts of children. Week after week, they have the opportunity to hear the hope of the Gospel and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

“When I was told that there is a program for children like us, where we can be fed, taught the word of God, and play with others, I was so happy.
